The main components of a cold splice connector include a ferrule, which holds the fiber in place, and a body, which secures the ferrule and maintains alignment with the other fiber (ZRCable) .

  • Fiber cleaver or cutting knife
  • Lint-free wipes and isopropyl alcohol
  • Optional: optical power meter or OTDR for testing
