How to use Huawei network service cabinets

Huawei network service cabinets are used to securely house, power, and connect network devices, and proper installation and configuration are essential for reliable operation.

Cabinet Selection and Preparation

Choose a standard 19-inch cabinet that meets the following criteria: width of 600mm, depth of 1200mm, and sufficient vertical space (at least 20U for DC-powered devices, 18U for AC/high-voltage DC) to accommodate devices, guide rails, and cabling . Ensure the cabinet can support the minimum load capacity of 383 kilograms and has front and rear doors with a porosity rate above 55% for proper airflow . Front doors should have air filters, while rear doors should remain filter-free .

Device Installation

1. Mounting Devices: Use L-shape or adjustable guide rails to install devices like USG firewalls, S16700 switches, or MA5800-X15 subracks . For the MA5800-X15, attach the subrack using IEC mounting ears and ensure proper alignment with the cabinet rails .
2. Space Management: Leave adequate space for cabling and airflow. For example, a 1200mm deep cabinet requires 165–175mm from the front mounting rail to the door and 200–300mm from the rear rail to the rear door .
